The Purpose of this group is to:
Umbrella women young in the ministry
Empower women to carry out the mission God has called them to do.
 
The prongs of the umbrella are:
Leadership Development, Economic Development
Educational Enhancement, Social Development
Spiritual Development, Strengthening Family Relationships and Career Enrichment.
 
HISTORY
Mother/Daughters of Zion was organized June 17, 1995, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Brooklyn New York by Rev. Susie Elliott. The organizing members were Inez Kelly, Hattie Dancil, Rose, Daphne Clark. Hattie Dancil was installed as the first President in January 1996. She served until she relocated to Petersburg Florida.
Each January, officers are installed and rededicated. Our
colors are Gold and White.
 
About Our Founder
Rev. Susie Elliott is the Pastor of Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Through her leadership, Mt. Paran has established innovative programs that minister to the spiritual and social needs of parishioners and community residents. She is guided by Phil: 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
She is an active member of Central
Brooklyn Churches and Chairperson of the Hunger Committee for Brooklyn Council of Churches as well as Chair of the Spiritual Life & Growth of Church Women United.
